A good quality smoked paprika and a dash of cayenne give this simple vinaigrette a complex flavor that compliments any combination of fresh salad greens. If you’re seeking a dressing with lots of heat, add a bit more garlic and double the spices. Warning: You might need a cold beer on the side.

- 3/4 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 3/4 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
Whisk the vinaigrette ingredients together in a small bowl or shake in a covered jar until well emulsified. Add salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. Taste test the dressing, adding more smoked paprika and/or cayenne if desired. Toss a light coating of the dressing on your salad and enjoy!
